Family and School

What is your family background with regards to education? Are you the first in your posterity to continue your education after high school?

Well my family on both my mothers and fathers side have been all about seeking higher learning after high school. If you were to look at my dad’s side of the family you would find school teachers, civil engineers and architects. Now if you took a look at my mom’s side you would see general contractors, electricians, and business owners. All of which have attended at least some level of college. So I knew that college for me was something that was somewhat expected out of me.  Not that I didn’t want to further my education but knew it was something that was going to be pushed upon me either way. I was ok with that but my senior year I really lacked a defined direction as to what I wanted to study. That led me to just take a term and try to find out what I wanted to do. Sense then I have attended three different schools and changed my academic focus four times so far and I’m still somewhat undecided  but I know that I’m headed in the right direction now and for me right now that’s good enough.

Where to go?

Favorite place on campus…..tough question because there are a lot of
fun places to go on campus depending on your mood. If I’m looking for a
quite place to study, the library is one of my favorites but there are
numerous benches and chair areas all threw out the entire campus. But
if I’m looking for a place to relax and just hang out, the
multicultural
center is the main place to just hang out. It’s nice because it’s ok to
be a little louder and not worry about being shhhh’d.

Food!!!

Food…food…food, something I hold very close to my heart. But as far
as
what food to eat on campus…..well I don’t know really. I know that the
coffee shop makes a really good white chocolate mocha that puts
Starbucks to shame. Ya if you don’t believe me, try it then we’ll talk.
Other than that, I don’t eat much on campus because I just don’t…lol
But
if I did, I would say that the cheddar chicken rollup’s are good!

Help?

Who do I go for on campus for help….well that really depends on
what kind of help I’m after. Like for example, if I needed to find a
instructor or class room I would head down to the Welcome Center in
building 2 because they know the campus better than just about anyone.
While I’m there in the Welcome Center I could get any answers about
signing up for classes answered by any of the counselors. Even if I was
in a rush I wouldn’t need an appointment for their speed counseling
that’s also offered in the Welcome Center. So it really depends on what
questions you have. And as far as instructors go, I wouldn’t say I have
a super strong connection with any one of my instructors but I know and
feel comfortable talking or working with them.
