Jose’s Biography
Hello everyone my name is Jose Hernandez. I’m 17 years old and I’m a freshmen at Chemeketa. I was born in San Francisco, CA, and so was my sister. We lived there for three years and then moved to San Rafael, CA, which is thirty minutes from San Francisco. When I was six years old and my sister was four years old my other sister was born. So, yes, I am the oldest in my family. It’s me and my two younger sisters. My parents immigrate here from Mexico to give us a better life and receive a better education.
My first impression of Oregon was that it was too calm, nothing to do, too boring, But after living here for six years I came to realize that I really like it here. When I got here, I arrived as a seventh grader and enrolled at Parrish middle school. Then I moved onto South Salem High School. I played soccer all my four years at South. Soccer, for me, goes way back to the day when I could still remember my first soccer team. I started to play when I was eight years old. I love playing soccer. In my free time, that’s what I do the most. I also played for Cascade Football Club (CFS) for a couple of years. I’ve been to many tournaments for outdoor as well as indoor soccer. But soccer is not the only thing that I like to do. Another thing that I love to do is spend time with my family and friends.
I’m a calm, funny, laid back type of guy. I like to hang out with friends and enjoy good times.
