Changes to Chemeketa Wi-Fi network

By Chemeketa Public Affairs

Changes coming to Chemeketa Wi-FiTo provide better service to wireless users, Chemeketa’s Information Technology will be turning on user authentication for the college’s Wi-Fi network during the weekend of Aug. 21-23. After this change, students and employees will be required to log in through a webpage with their My Chemeketa username and password to use college Wi-Fi.

To connect to Chemeketa’s Wi-Fi network after the change:

  1. Connect to the Wi-Fi network of your choice (CCCEmployee for employees, and CCCStudent for students)
  2. Enter the Wi-Fi network passphrase
  3. You should get redirected to a login page
  4. Use your My Chemeketa username and password
 to log in
  5. You are connected

Note: Most devices will either redirect you automatically to the login page, or alert you that additional actions are necessary to connect to the Internet. If this does not happen, browse to a non-secure site and you should be redirected to the login page.

Should you have any issues getting connected, please contact the IT Help Desk at 503.399.7899.

Information about college tuition and the Oregon Promise

By Chemeketa Public Affairs

The Oregon Promise is a new, state-funded program to help pay the costs of a community college education beginning in the 2016-17 academic year. It has been publicized as free tuition, though that isn’t completely accurate.

The application period for the Oregon Promise opens Nov. 1 and stays open through March 1.

Chemeketa has a web page with information available so far on the Oregon Promise.

Since all information being provided to Oregon’s community colleges is coming from the state, questions about the Oregon Promise are best directed to the Office of Student Access and Completion.
