Award-winning author hosts writing workshop

This week, Chemeketa welcomes award-winning author Karen Karbo as host to a book reading and Chemeketa Writes workshop.

Karen is author of fourteen award-winning novels, memoirs and works of non-fiction including the best-selling “Kick Ass Women” series: Julia Child RulesHow Georgia Became O’KeeffeThe Gospel According to Coco Chanel and How to Hepburn.

Her 2004 memoir, The Stuff of Life, written about the last year she spent with her father before his death, won awards from New York Times, People Magazine and Oregon Book Awards. Her short stories, essays, articles and reviews have appeared in ElleVogueEsquireOutside, the New York TimesSalon.com and other magazines and she was recently one of 24 writers awarded an Amtrak Residency.
