On Wednesday, April 19, the Bldg. 2 Student Center will be filled with the powerful, supporting message “you are not alone” at the third annual Stop Violence Against Women event.
Stop Violence Against Women aims to bring awareness to the campus community on resources available to those who suffer violence—including women, men and children.
Community and state agencies will be on hand to provide information about where to go and what to do if you or someone you know is in a violent situation.
From 1-2 pm, the event welcomes guest speaker Jackie Sandmeyer, campus coordinator for the Attorney General Task Force on Sexual Assault. Jackie works with colleges and universities across the state to provide assistance, training and motivation to identify advocates and create safe spaces for survivors of trauma.
To accompany the event, award-winning singer-songwriter Beth Wood will contribute a soothing, soulful musical performance.
This event is sponsored by Student Retention and College Life/Multicultural Student Services, the President’s Office and Title IX Coordinator
