Mariana Ruiz-Temple attended Chemeketa and was impressed to see so much diversity. She fell in love with science and decided to join the fire fighting program. She is now the Oregon State Fire Marshall. Her goal is to protect Oregonians from hazmat in the Wildland Urban Interface area.

"Chemeketa is great because there are campuses around the region and it is really tapped into our community. There are impressive trade programs like Mechanics and Visual Communications. The College also offers career advancement opportunities to people returning to school later in their careers, like state employees. I'm grateful for my time at Chemeketa!"
